About

Make Music Phoenix, is a free event designed to inspire the community to play music and showcase local musical talent held annually on June 21. This day is part of the larger Make Music Day, an international celebration of music held in over 1,000 cities in 120 countries.
 
Each year our community of singers, listeners, beginners, and professionals come together to share their inspiration with the world. Join the festivities for a diverse day of music-making, open to all on Friday, June 21, 2024! 

The best way to participate in Make Music Phoenix is to view the event details here. Performers as well as businesses and venues, can proactively register themselves on the Make Music Phoenix site, pheonix.makemusicday.org, allowing each to potentially find each other and connect.

Important Dates

  • Venue Registration Opens – March 25
  • Musician Registration Opens & Matchmaking Begins – April 1
  • Registration Closes – June 8
  • Matchmaking Ends – June 15
  • Make Music Phoenix – June 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Make Music Phoenix is open to musicians of all ages and abilities by providing them with opportunities to perform. When you join, you are celebrating all the ways musicians enrich our lives with their passion for music.

Make Music Phoenix is open to all venues – whether you have a store, studio, café, or other indoor space in mind, it’s easy and there’s no cost to participate. Venues must be:

  • Free and accessible to the public
  • In the City of Phoenix
  • Indoor or properly cooled

  1. Create an account with our Make Music Phoenix site by June 8
  2. Once you have signed up, create a profile and customize it. Read our guide for step-by-step instructions.
  3. You will receive an automated message with a confirmation
  4. Using the matchmaking site, connect with performers/venues that align with your availability

What is Matchmaking?

Matchmaking is the online system that connects musicians and venues. Once accounts are created, venues can browse musician profiles and vice versa to request a booking. A few tips:

  • Tell us more – Fill out the profile as much as possible
  • Don’t be shy – Feel free to send requests
  • Be timely – Respond to requests in a timeline manner
  • Follow up -Send direct messages in the system

Become a Volunteer

Make Music Phoenix is seeking volunteers for fun opportunities for all levels of involvement. Our volunteers keep things running smoothly which means we need your help on June 21st! Below is a list of the things you might be doing:

  • Answer any questions
  • Take photos
  • Provide water and snacks
  • Help performers manage their time
  • Help with setup and breakdown between activities
  • Help the kids and parents during workshops
